Staff from Richmond School and Sixth Form College have raised £165 for Foundation Richmond through donating the money they would normally have spent on Christmas cards.

Becca Thackray, Support Worker, said: “We are over the moon with the donation and greatly appreciate the generosity of the staff who donated to Foundation in lieu of sending Christmas cards.

“The money will be a great boost to the projects we are currently working on with our young people. These include creating an outdoor garden space where they can nurture plants, grow vegetables and herbs, or simply spend time enjoying the outdoors.

“Our young people have been instrumental in the planning and development of this area and are looking forward to making the design a reality once the weather improves.”

It is wonderful that the school and college are helping our charity which supports children and young people aged 16-25 who are in our service.

Sven Wardle, Media Marketing and Communications at Richmond School and Sixth Form College, said: “Our staff are very pleased to have helped Foundation Richmond with our annual ‘Alternative Christmas Card’ donation. It is excellent to be able to work with a local charity that is doing fantastic work for young people from the Richmond area. We look forward to hearing about the project the money is going towards and to working with the charity in the future.”
