Delivering Services in Hambleton & Richmondshire, with office bases in Northallerton, Richmond and Thirsk.
The Hambleton & Richmondshire Team delivers services to Single People and Families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and to Adult Offenders.
The Thirsk Team delivers services to Young People at risk age 16 - 25 years.
The Homeless Prevention Scheme works with local housing departments to prevent homelessness and support people to maintain their tenancy. Customers can be in accommodation of any tenure and support is provided for up to two years. Drop in sessions are available across the two districts to provide housing related information and advice.
The Resettlement and Community Safety Service offers support to high risk offenders. Part of this is the Making Safe Scheme which works with perpetrators of domestic violence. Both these schemes aim to assist customers sustain a tenancy whilst breaking the cycle of their offending, through an accredited Pre-tenancy Support Programme and support to access employment opportunities. This is a multi-agency partnership scheme and the main referral source is the police, courts and social services.
From our office in Thirsk we offer accommodation based supported housing for young people at risk aged 16-25 yrs within the two districts. In addition to this we have accommodation available to young people on a short term basis who are experiencing relationship breakdowns at home. Homeless prevention work is delivered to pupils within their schools which aims to educate young people on the myths surrounding homelessness.
