Friends

Here at Foundation, we seek to work with a range of organisations across all sectors as we endeavour to deliver new and improved services, secure training and employment for our clients and fundraise so that we can develop new enterprises and further opportunities.

We work innovatively with partner organisations to enhance customer support, deliver social value and to contribute to community events and projects. For the past 30 years, Foundation has been involved in a range of innovative partnership activities – here are some of the current projects we’re enjoying!

30th Anniversary Fundraising

In September 2014 Foundation’s 30th anniversary signalled the beginning of our fundraising efforts in support of the Woodland Social Enterprise and these have continued throughout 2015.

From fetes, car boot sales, bag packing, tuck shops to sponsored events, staff and supporters have really excelled! At the end of September 2015 we had raised £13,500 – much thanks to everyone for their special efforts including our many sponsors.

Friends of Foundation football!

Foundation provides support services to people who are socially excluded and hard to reach. Many face loneliness, 40% of our clients are socially isolated, living in hostels or ‘sofa surf’. Our client group include homeless people, ex-offenders, people with substance/alcohol addictions and both diagnosed and undiagnosed mental health needs.

Over the last three years our Leeds team has established and developed a volunteer-led football project for our clients. The sessions are open and used by males and females, young and older people, and people from a diverse range of ethnic backgrounds and abilities. We’ve attended tournaments such as the annual Homeless games in Liverpool, the St George Crypt annual event, plus other one off competitions around West Yorkshire.

Our football project has gained the support of many fantastic organisations, including Leeds Beckett University who help us to evaluate the health benefits for people of taking part in the Football programme.

We are also working with Leeds United Foundation and the Homeless Football Association to both improve the skills and development of the customers involved but also to raise awareness of homelessness and the huge impact it has on individuals.

Thank You!

Without the help of our friends, partners, sponsors and volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to deliver the wide range of services that we do – so we’d like to take this opportunity to thank our supporters for making better lives a reality for so many of our service users.

If you have a project or opportunity you’d like to discuss, we’d love to welcome you into the Foundation family – please call us on 0113 303 0150 for an informal chat.
